I think the greatest statement about our time at the Glasgow Country Living Fair last week is that I just woke up from a 36 hour sleep. I managed to get through most of Monday before literally collapsing in a heap on Monday night amid the boxes of kits and yarn we brought back.
The fair itself was busy. Thousands upon thousands through the doors. It was a great opportunity to meet a TON of blog readers and chat crochet.
In addition to the stall, I also ran a workshop each day for 50 people. It was pure insanity, but we managed it! We used a variation of the Christmas stars. Each participant received a pattern, yarn donated by Hobbycraft and a crochet hook. We went through the pattern and learned double crochet, chain stitches and slip stitches. It was good/challenging/nerve wracking/fun. The workshops were full every day, with a waiting list and more people than not left with a star!
Huge thanks to all of the helpers - Steffi, Julie, Sam, Barbara, Helen, Alice, Guilia, Claire, Tanya, Lesley, and Emma. And especially HUGE thank you to Julia who helped every day. There is no way I could have run workshops on that scale without help. Thanks also to the other designers who helped me plan the session in a way that it could work.
And now, to tackle my poor neglected inbox.
