For the vast majority of my crochet-life, I have been motif adverse. I have no real justification for this aversion, I just have always preferred every other kind of crochet...until the last few months.
Motifs have been cropping up more and more in my work. A number of designs in Hook, Stitch and Give are motif based, as well as the pattern for puff stitch hexies of a few weeks ago. Something about the portability makes them the perfect summer project and when so much of my brain is taken up with garment designs, motifs make such a refreshing change.
This design is for The Mother Magazine. Its a very simply lacy hexagon table runner, made in a DK weight linen/cotton blend. Its so quick to make, it would be an excellent host gift or just a "sat in front of a movie" make.
You can find the pattern in Issue 63 of The Mother Magazine, out today.
