Things Learned

I spent the weekend holed up in the studio, crocheting my little heart out. Kevin was on stay at home dad duty...and let's just say he's looking forward to work today for a break.   Lesson 1: Kevin would not make a good house husband.

Writing crochet patterns involves math.  Specifically geometry.  I once told my high school math teacher that I would NEVER need geometry in real life and I messed around in his class.  Lesson 2: Pay attention in math class, you never know when you'll need it.

I am still sugar-free and feeling great.  Coffee still tastes weird, but I am getting used to it. I am eating sugar once a week and for this week, we made this preztel snack bar.  It was good, but it would have been better with almond bark. Lesson 3: Everything is better with chocolate and or almond bark.

I also bought Delicious Magazine this past week for some cooking inspiration.  Oh my.  Every single thing we have tried as been OUTSTANDING.  We made a gluten free chicken and chorizo pie and Ellis "Even though I was Baby Led Weaned, I am going to turn my nose up at everything that isn't sausage shaped" Harrison-Goldin ate 3 helpings. Lesson 4: Everything that isn't better with chocolate or almond bark is probably better with chorizo.

I've now decided to watermark all of my photos. This would seem to be an easy thing to do, right? Just add some text to a photo?...it took me 3 hours to figure it out.  In the end, it was about a 3 minute task in Lightroom. Lesson 5: Reading the instructions will save you time.

In a moment of crochet pattern writing procrastination efficiency, I created a facebook page for the blog.  I keep obsessively refreshing it to see if anyone else likes me. Lesson 6: Even when you tell yourself its not a popularity contest, it usually is.
